A person has died in a crash in Northland that closed a section of State Highway 1.
Police said a truck collided with a car about 8.20am on Tuesday between School Road and Bosher Road in Wellsford.
The driver of the car died at the scene.
Northbound traffic was being diverted through School Road and while southbound traffic through Bosher Road, and motorists were advised to expect delays.
The highway was due to open early afternoon, police said.
The Serious Crash Unit was investigating.
