A man has died after being pulled from the water at a Coromandel beach this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Whangapoua Beach about 1pm.
First aid was carried out on the man, however, he was unable to be revived.
Although police would not confirm whether he drowned, a spokesperson said he had been swimming beforehand.
The man's death will be referred to the coroner.
