Police say a busy Christchurch intersection is shut this morning as emergency services attend to a crash involving a car and motorbike.
The crash occurred shortly before 6 o'clock and has blocked Curletts Road (or State Highway 73) at the intersection of Lunns Road.
The rider of the motorcycle is being treated for critical injuries.
Police are advising motorists to use alternative routes as the intersection will likely be closed for some time.
The Serious Crash Unit is attending.
