Police are appealing to the public for information following an aggravated robbery in Kaikohe, Northland earlier this week.
Police said they received reports of four males entering a store on Broadway armed with a hammer and tyre iron, at about 11.20pm on 18 February.
The group allegedly jumped the counter and took items including cigarettes and cash.
A store staff member ran to the back of the shop and locked themselves inside.
Police said they would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the robbery or recognised the vehicle.
The vehicle used in the offending is described as a white Toyota Aqua with registration PSR418.
