A fire in the coastal Northland settlement of Ngunguru, which earlier threatened several homes, has now been contained.
Firefighters were alerted to the fire at about 3.30pm.
About 50 firefighters fought the blaze, along with three helicopters.
Fire and Emergency said a crew will monitor hotspots at the scene overnight.
It said no houses had been damaged and two crews will be back tomorrow morning.
