Several firefighting crews are responding to a scrub fire in the North Island's Tararua district.
Fire and Emergency were alerted to the blaze in the Ormondville area, near Dannevirke, shortly after 4am on Sunday.
The 50m by 50m fire was found on the side of a bank and heading uphill, and not deemed a threat to any properties.
At least four crews remained at the scene, although the fire was now deemed under control.
