A Whangārei man has been charged in relation to the driveway death of a young child earlier this year.
The man, who has been granted interim name suppression, appeared in the Whangārei District Court on Monday morning.
The 35-year-old was charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life, thereby committing manslaughter.
He is next due in the High Court on 11 April.
In an earlier statement, police said the three-year-old boy died at a Te Kamo address in February after an incident with a moving vehicle in a driveway.
