A person is in a critical condition after the scooter they were riding collided with a van towing a trailer in Dunedin.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Cargill Street and Stuart Street at about 1pm.
Police said a serious crash unit had been sent to the scene and diversions were in place.
St John said the person was taken to Dunedin Hospital.
