Seven people were hurt in an explosion in a carport at a house in Taupo on Saturday night.
Three, including a woman and her child, aged two years, were taken to Waikato hospital for treatment for burns.
A fourth was sent to Rotorua hospital for treatment.
Three others were treated and discharged from Taupo hospital.
Seventeen people were at the house at the time.
The cause of the explosion is unknown.
