The northern-most petrol station in New Zealand is still managing to keep running, even though its pumps are unusable after a fire.
The store at Waitiki Landing, 23km south of Cape Reinga, burned down a week ago.
Owner Carl Pascoe says there is an emergency supply of petrol for people who need it. He aims to have the store and pumps running again in six to eight weeks.
The nearest petrol pumps to Waitiki Landing are at Houhora, 50km away, but Mr Pascoe says they are due to close at the end of October.
