A former Labour party official is seeking an apology from the Labour leader and the party's housing spokesman over what he calls hurtful racial profiling.
Shane Te Pou, whose wife is Chinese, had her personal details released in Labour's housing data leak, which claimed nearly 40 percent of the 4000 houses sold by one real estate company over three months went to people with Chinese names.
Barfoot & Thompson has fired the staff member it said released the data.
Mr Te Pou told Checkpoint he was not considering taking legal action against the party, but would like the opportunity to speak to leader Andrew Little about it.
He said it was not about his little whanau but the bigger picture, which is how it has unfairly affected the Chinese community.
