Ice in Dunedin caused schools to open late and is disrupting travel.
Buses, planes and motorways are all affected.
Dunedin schools and kindergartens opened an hour late at 10 o'clock, as officials took a precautionary approach because of snow and ice on the roads on the city's slippery roads.

Bus services were also affected on some routes - those going to hill suburbs were suspended and won't start again until the roads thaw out.
The heavy winter storm brought waves of ice and snow over the weekend, but while it passed, its effects were still lingering on Monday, with black ice widespread.
The city's Northern Motorway was closed for a time.
