New Zealand's largest forestry and wood processing event, Forest Industries 2011, opens in Rotorua on Monday.
The three-day expo has been organised by the Rotorua District Council and features more than 100 exhibitors from the timber industry.
It also includes technical clinics and a day long conference on wood innovation.
The Rotorua District Council says the event will be at the core of a six-week nationwide showcase of timber products during September and October.
The event's project manager, Sandra Kai Fong, expects about 3000 people to attend.
She says the show has been held in Rotorua since 1990 and is designed for those working in forestry as well as students who might be interested in making it their career.
