Northland is seriously dry in some places.
Country Life reports the far north is the worst.
Some parts of the region had between 20% - 40% of their normal rainfall for August.
Country Life says Northland has gone from having swamp conditions earlier in winter to being as hard as a rock now. Pasture covers are continuing to drop.
