America's Cup holders Alinghi have launched two catamarans which they plan to use to train for the 33rd edition of the competition next year.
Alinghi, backed by biotechnology billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli, is locked in a legal battle with lead challenger BMW-Oracle about the format and timing of the event, which could be staged using either multi or mono-hulls.
The Swiss team say they're dedicated to multihull training, racing the Challenge Julius Baer on Lake Geneva for the rest of the season and withdrawing from other mono-hull commitments.
