The Mercedes Formula One driver Nico Rosberg has had a lucky escape from a high speed blow-out during tyre testing in Bahrain.
Rosberg Tweeted that he spun out at 320 kilometres per hour on a straight after his tyre blew up without warning.
A number of teams have been involved in three day tests with the tyre supplier Pirelli, following changes to the rules governing safety.
The Italian company is keen to avoid a repeat of this year's spectacular British Grand Prix blowouts that threw the sport into crisis and forced Pirelli to revise their tyre construction.
