Auckland swimmer Lauren Boyle has snared New Zealand's second medal in the Glasgow pool after snatching silver in the 800 metres freestyle final at the Commonwealth Games.

Top qualifier Jazz Carlin of Wales won the gold, with Brittany MacLean of Canada third.
Carlin swam a Games record.
The three were together until the last 100 metres, when the Welsh swimmer pulled away, while Boyle held on for second.
Boyle says it's a bittersweet result, but she's happy with the silver.
She says when the pressure went on in the last 100, she was unable to respond.
Fellow New Zealand swimmer Glenn Snyders finished fifth in the 50 metre breaststroke final.
Meanwhile the Lower Hutt shooter Sally Johnston set a new Commonwealth Games record to win the women's 50 metre prone event and claim New Zealand's first shooting gold medal in Glasgow.
The 44-year-old shot a games record 620.7 to narrowly beat South Africa's Esmari van Reenen with the Delhi gold medallist Jen McIntosh of Scotland third.
