The New Zealand Breakers won't have overall home court advantage for the first time in an NBL grand final series, when they attempt to pick up their fourth National Basketball League title.
Game one of the best-of-three series against the Taipans starts in Cairns on Friday night.
The Breakers won three titles in a row from 2011 to 2013, where they hosted two of the three finals games, courtesy of finishing the regular round on top of the table.
But this time two of the finals matches are being held in enemy territory.
They beat every team in the league on the road this season - including their only win over Cairns - and Tom Abercrombie says they take confidence out of that.
"Different challenge for us, a position we haven't found ourselves in before but you know we've been a very good road team all year this year and we just have to back ourselves to go there and get the job done."
Cairns won three of their four clashes against the Breakers this season.
Game two is in Auckland on Sunday.
