The American cyclist Shelly Evans has retained the lead after the second stage of the women's Tour of New Zealand.
Evans won a bunch sprint in Palmerston North following a 114 kilometre ride from Masterton over the Pahiatua track.
The Chinese riders Liu Xin and Wong Wan Yiu finished second and third.
Stage three tomorrow is an 87 kilometre circuit around Palmerston North and Ashurst.
