Down 3-2 at the bottom of the sixth innings, New Zealand's Joel Evans hit a homerun over left field with the bases loaded, giving the Black Sox a 6-3 lead heading into the final innings.
A late homerun by Nick Shales pegged one back for Australia to edge them to 6-4, but it wasn't enough.
Australia eventually went down, allowing the Black Sox to win their seventh title, and their first on Canadian soil.
