The New Zealand cricketers have been beaten by 13 runs by South Africa in their opening Super Eight match at the Twenty20 World Cup in Barbados.
South Africa scored 170 for 4, while the Black Caps finished their 20 overs on 157 for 7 with Jesse Ryder top scoring with 33.
New Zealand's next match is against Pakistan on Sunday.
