Portugal have asked FIFA to cancel the yellow card Cristiano Ronaldo received during their drawn match against Ivory Coast in the opening round of the World Cup.
They claim their star player merely tried to walk away after being tripped and insulted.
Under the tournament rules players who received two yellow cards are suspended for one match.
Ronaldo has complained that the star players need more protection from referees than they are getting.
