She's been the head of Netball New Zealand, Rugby Australia and NRL club the Canterbury Bulldogs, now Raelene Castle is to head up the 'Ministry of Sport' - Sport New Zealand.
But what does her appointment mean for the future of sport in this country - at both the high performance level and at community level?
Do those areas compliment each other or are they at odds? Where should Sport New Zealand's focus be?
Does club sport need to be given priority over winning international events and how does the organisation address the declining participation numbers, especially among teenagers and young women?
We discuss all this with former Black Fern and Silver Fern and Labour MP Louisa Wall, the head of the the Amateur Sports Association Gordon Noble-Campbell and columnist Hamish Bidwell, who wrote about Castle's appointment this week.
We also hear from the New Zealand women's rugby league team ahead of their clash with Samoa and rally driver Hayden Paddon unveils his much talked about electric rally car.
