The Phoenix impressed in the first half and scored through Ulises Davila, while the homeside replied just before the break.
The Mariners then dominated the second half and against the run of play substitute Jaushua Sotirio grabbed the winner two minutes from time.
"Last week we dominated the game for the 90 minutes and we lost," coach Ufuk Talay said.
"Today we played well in the first half but not so well in the second half, but getting the three points was most important to get that boost and confidence within the players."
The Phoenix improve from last to 10th on the table with four points.
They play Sydney FC next Monday

No games for Breakers
The New Zealand Breakers Australian NBL basketball game against the Wildcats in Perth on Friday has been postponed.
The decision follows the five day lockdown announced by the Western Australian Government yesterday.
Last night's game between the two teams in Perth was also postponed after the the Breakers were unable to travel from Adelaide after a number of their travelling party reported being unwell.
They have since undergone precautionary COVID testing, with all players returning negative results.
The Breakers have now been cleared to resume training in Adelaide.
New dates for the postponed games have yet to be determined.

Barca to take action against newspaper
Barcelona will take legal action against Spanish newspaper El Mundo for publishing Lionel Messi's contract with the football club.

El Mundo published full details of the deal Messi penned with Barca in 2017 until June 2021.
The publication said his four year contract was worth $930 million.
The report said the contract, which was previously described by French newspaper L'Equipe as the most lucrative in football, had contributed to the club's recent financial troubles, which have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Barca's last accounts showed their net debt had doubled to $820 million, while the club's interim president Carles Tusquets said recently they had been forced to delay payments to players.
Messi, who joined Barca in 2000 aged 13 and made his debut in 2004, is the club's all-time scorer with 650 goals and has also provided 280 assists in 755 appearances for the Catalans.
He is also their captain and most decorated player with 10 La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues plus six Copa del Rey triumphs.
The Argentine tried to leave Barca last August via a release clause in his contract but eventually decided to stay in order to avoid a court case with the club.
