Burnley manager Sean Dyche has described striker Chris Wood's participation against Brighton and Hove Albion as hopeful.
He was the club's top scorer last season as they finish 17th.
Defender Winston Reid picked up a knee injury during the Olympic tournament and hasn't returned to West Ham training.
Reid was on loan at Brentford last season and helped them gain promotion to the Premier League, but is now back with the Hammers.
The 33 year old has been at West Ham since 2010 and is contracted with them through to 2023, but he's had limited play in recent years mainly through injury and the London club may look to off-load him again.
West Ham play Newcastle in their first game of the EPL season.
Ko lines up at Fife
Bronze medalist Lydia Ko is one of 32 Olympians who will line up at the Scottish Open tonight, the last warmup event to next week's final golf major of the year, the British Open.
The Scottish Open at Fife has it's strongest field headed by the most recent Major winner, Minjee Lee of Australia.
There are 16 Major winners in the field, including world number ten Ko.
Next week's British Open is at Carnoustie.
Chelsea win Super Cup
Substitute goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga made two shootout saves as Champions League winners Chelsea beat Spain's Villarreal 6-5 on penalties to add the UEFA Super Cup to their trophy collection.

Extra time had ended 1-1 at Belfast's Windsor Park ground, with Chelsea replacing goalkeeper Edouard Mendy with Kepa in the final seconds in what turned out to be a master-stroke as penalties loomed.
The freshest player on a field of tired legs saved first from Aissa Mandi at 1-1 and then made the winning stop at 6-5 when Villarreal captain and 2010 World Cup winner Raul Albiol hit the ball to the bottom left.
Mendy was one of the first to congratulate his team mate, with Chelsea lifting the trophy for a second time.
Villarreal are the Europa League holders.

Some Aussies in double quarantine
The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has labelled the government of South Australia "cruel and uncaring" for imposing an extra two-week quarantine for athletes returning via Sydney from the Tokyo Games, meaning a 28 days of quarantine in total.

The additional quarantine requirement for athletes currently isolating in Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, comes on top of the two weeks mandated for all arrivals from overseas.
"Due to the high risk of the Delta strain of COVID-19 in NSW, anyone travelling from New South Wales must undertake 14 days quarantine upon entry into South Australia," the state said in a statement.
The AOC said South Australia had turned down its request for an exemption from the extra quarantine period.
"While other countries are celebrating the return of their athletes, we are subjecting ours to the most cruel and uncaring treatment," AOC Chief Executive Matt Carroll said.
The AOC said 56 members of the Australian Olympic team were returning to South Australia 16 were already undergoing quarantine in Sydney.
Nadal in doubt for US Open
Rafa Nadal's U.S. Open preparations have suffered another setback after the Spaniard withdrew from next week's Cincinnati hardcourt event with a nagging foot issue.

Nadal suffered a shock exit last week in Washington, where he kicked off his lead-up to the U.S. Open, and yesterday pulled out of the ongoing Masters 1000 event in Toronto with a left-foot issue.
The Spaniard is the latest in a number of high-profile names to sit out next week's Western & Southern Open, joining a list that includes Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Serena Williams and Sofia Kenin.
In his pre-tournament news conference in Toronto on Sunday, Nadal said a recurring foot issue he has been dealing with since 2005 returned at the French Open, where he fell to eventual champion Djokovic in the semi-finals.
When discussing his Toronto withdrawal Nadal, who also sat out Wimbledon and the Tokyo Olympics, said: "With this pain, I am not able to enjoy, and I really don't believe that I have chances to fight for the things that I really need to fight."
The U.S. Open starts on August 30.

Messi wants another Champions League title
Lionel Messi said he dreams of winning the Champions League once more after joining Paris St-Germain, adding: "I think we have the team to do it here."

The Argentina captain, 34, won four Champions League titles with Barcelona, the last of which came in 2015.
PSG are still searching for their first title in the competition, having lost to Bayern Munich in the 2020 final.
"My goal and my dream is to win the Champions League once more," Messi said as he was unveiled as a PSG player.
Messi left Barcelona - who he joined aged 13 - as they were unable to afford a new deal under La Liga's financial fair play rules.Considered one of the greatest players of all time, he scored a record 672 goals in 778 games for the Catalan giants.
He won the Ballon d'Or a record six times and lifted 35 trophies during his time at the Nou Camp, but said he is excited to "begin this new moment of my life" after a "difficult" departure from Barcelona.

Broad to miss rest of series
England seamer Stuart Broad will miss the remainder of the test series against India due to a tear in his right calf.
The 35-year-old underwent a scan after hurting his ankle during practice yesterday ahead of the second test at Lord's .
England have called up Lancashire's Saqib Mahmood, who could be in line to make his debut tonight, with James Anderson also a doubt due to a tight quad.
India pace bowler Shardul Thakur has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
The sides drew the opening game of the five-match series after the final day was washed out.
Meanwhile both teams have been penalised two points each from their 2021-23 World Test Championship tally for maintaining a slow over-rate in that first test in Nottingham.

Rose wins award
Britain's Justin Rose has been named the recipient of the PGA Tour's Payne Stewart Award, which honours a player for his character, sportsmanship and a commitment to charity.

Named after the three-time major champion Stewart, who died in a private plane crash in 1999, Rose will receive his award at a ceremony that will take place on Aug. 31 in conjunction with the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
A former-world number one, Olympic gold medallist and U.S. Open champion, Rose is also respected for his charitable work.
In 2009 Rose and his wife Kate established their own foundation working with charities in South Africa, the United States, the Bahamas and England.
The Kate & Justin Rose Foundation (KJRF) has raised more than $5 million and provided more than 500,000 hunger-free weekends and more than 300,000 books to 29,000 children.
