The two sides were due to meet at Casey Fields in Melbourne on Wednesday night.

Football Australia (FA) advised the round of 16 match between Gold Coast Knights and Melbourne Victory, scheduled to be played on the Gold Coast on Wednesday, had also been postponed.

FA said the postponements were due to confirmed positive Covid-19 cases within one of the participating clubs, and potential close and/or casual contact exposure to representatives of another participating club.

In a statement, the Phoenix said there were no confirmed positive cases in their camp and none of their players or staff were currently regarded as close and/or casual contacts.

The team was attempting to leave Melbourne and return to its base in Sydney.

Football Australia said they would work with all four clubs to reschedule the matches as soon as possible.
