Melbourne Victory have denied the Wellington Phoenix a valuable point in the race for the A-League finals.

The Victory have beaten the Phoenix 3-1 at a waterlogged AAMI Park in Melbourne after the match was level at 1-1 at half-time.
Gael Sandoval drew Wellington level from the spot in the 26th minute after Nick D'Agostino gave the Victory an early lead.
Jake Brimmer put Melbourne back in front with a 68th minute spot kick before Marco Rojas completed the scoring 12 minutes from full-time.
The result leaves the Phoenix fifth on a congested ladder with two regular season games remaining, while Melbourne Victory have jumped up to second after extending their club-record unbeaten run to 14 matches.
"We've still got two very important games to play," Talay said.
"The good thing is it's still in our hands whether we make the top six or not."
The Phoenix will return to Sydney on Saturday to prepare for Thursday night's match against Western Sydney Wanderers, needing a win from one of their last two matches to ensure a playoff spot.
Tennis Legend Boris Becker jailed
Six time grand slam champion Boris Becker has been sentenced to 30 months imprisonment for bankruptcy fraud.

The 54 year old declared bankruptcy in June 2017 after owing creditors more than $50 million over an unpaid loan on his Mallorca estate.
Becker was found to have transferred hundreds of thousands of pounds after his bankruptcy to other accounts, including his ex wife Barbara Becker and estranged wife Lilly Becker.
Becker also failed to declare ownership of a property in Germany, shares in a tech firm and a 825,000 euro bank loan.
Judge Deborah Taylor said Becker's suspended sentence for tax evasion and attempted tax evasion in Germany in 2002 was a significant aggravating factor in her decision.
Becker, who oached world number one Novak Djokovic to six Grand Slam titles between 2014 and 2016, is expected to serve half of his sentence behind bars.
Fox continues strong form in Spain
New Zealand professional golfer Ryan Fox has made a strong start to the latest DP World Tour event in Spain, as he looks to win for the second time in three starts.

The big hitting Aucklander, who won Ras Al Khaimah Classic in Abu Dhabi in February, is in a tie for fourth after two rounds in Catalunya.
Fox carded a second round 68 to be at five under for the event, two shots back from Englishman Laurie Canter.
A win for Fox will boost his chances of making the International Team for the Presidents Cup at the end of the year in the US.
Fox is currently 34th in the rankings, with the top eight ranked players at the end of the season automatically qualifying for selection.
Boehly looks to purchase Chelsea
The consortium led by LA Dodgers part-owner Todd Boehly is in exclusive negotations to buy Premier League club Chelsea for $3 billion.

Boehly's consortium was one of a number of bidders who had approached New York bank Raine with bids to purchase the team, which was put up for sale by owner Roman Abramovich following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and before sanctions were imposed on the oligarch by the British government.
Abramovich put Chelsea up for sale on March 2, amid Russia's continued invasion of Ukraine.
Chelsea are reportedly looking to have new ownership finalised by the end of May.
