The world No 5 carded a third round of six-under par 66 to be tied for second at the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea.

Ko produced an unblemished card on day three in Busan, mixing six birdies with 12 pars.

Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul had the outright lead at 15-under par, with the 25-year-old New Zealander and American Andrea Lee both at 14-under.

Ko was chasing her second win of what had been an impressive and consistent 2022 so far.

Along with her 17th career victory in Florida in January, she had racked up nine other top five finishes in 19 tournaments played.
