The Sydney Spirit basketball captain Jason Smith is optimistic that enough of his teammates will decide today to accept the Australian National Basketball League's rescue package, allowing the embattled club to play out the season.
The Spirit players met with the NBL yesterday and were told exactly how much they would be paid for the rest of the season.
The first year franchise will survive only if the majority of the squad accept their individual deals through the NBL-funded package.
