New Zealand were unable to hold onto a lead as they drew 2-2 with Uzbekistan in their second game of the men's Under-20 football World Cup in Argentina.
Ben Wallace and Jay Herdman scored first half goals to New Zealand in front, before the Asian champions, who dominated possession, scored twice after the break including the equaliser in time added on.
New Zealand captain Finn Surman still happy with his sides performance.
"All the boys will say it was pretty tough, had to put in a big shift, Surman said afterwards.
"We're pretty frustrated and disappointed to only come away with one point because we were in a position to take all three.
"But to take one point away from that game is not the end of the world, we're still happy with that.
New Zealand beat Guatemala 1-0 in their opening game.
Argentina beat Guatemala 3-0 in the day's other game in the group.
The hosts top the group with six points and play New Zealand in their final round of group games.
New Zealand have four points, Uzbekistan one and Guatemala none.
New Zealand has reached the round of 16 at the last three Under-20 World Cups.
