Auckland MMA fighter Carlos Ulberg has been announced as the first fighter to appear on the UFC 293 card in Sydney.
The light heavyweight will take on Da Woon Jung of Korea on September 10.
The 32-year-old City Kickboxing star is fresh off a first round knockout of Ihor Potieria in May and is riding a four-fight winning streak inside the octagon.
His opponent conversely has lost his last two bouts, though has previously defeated the only man to beat Ulberg in the UFC.
Woon Jung knocked out Kennedy Nzechukwu in 2021, the man who beat Ulberg in his UFC debut.
Ulberg will go into the fight with an 8-1 record while Woon Jung boasts slightly more experience at 15-4-1.
The card is expected to be headlined by middleweight champion Israel Adesanya taking on the winner of Robert Whittaker and Dricus Du Plessis who square off at UFC 290 on July 9.
"My people, My Home," Ulberg wrote on Instagram following the announcement of the fight.
