New Zealand have overpowered Solomon Islands 19-0 in a lopsided quarterfinal at the OFC under-19 women's championship tournament in Fiji.

The defending champions led 12-0 at halftime on the way to booking a place in the semi-finals on Wednesday against either Vanuatu or the Cook Islands.

Ruby Nathan led the scoring with five goals while Kiara Bercelli bagged four. There were also hat-tricks for Ella McCann and Zoe Benson.

It was the second time New Zealand have hit double figures at the tournament, having beaten Papua New Guinea 11-0 in group play.
