Michael Venus has tasted twin success in the doubles at Wimbledon as New Zealand's dream run continues into the second week of the Grand Slam tournament.
Venus advanced to the quarter-finals of the men's doubles before returning to court hours later to win his mixed doubles first round match with fellow-Kiwi Erin Routliffe.
Routliffe is still alive in the women's doubles, adding to a thriving New Zealand assault on the grass in London, spearheaded by Lulu Sun.
After becoming the first New Zealand woman to reach a Wimbledon women's singles last eight, the 123rd-ranked Sun is scheduled to play her quarter-final against Croatian world No.37 Donna Vekic early on Wednesday morning.
Venus' busy day began when he and Briton Neil Skupski beat the American men's pair of Christopher Eubanks and Evan King 7-5, 6-3 in the round of 16.
It sets up a last-eight showdown for the ninth seeds with unseeded Germans Hendrik Jebens and Constantin Frantzen.
Venus and Routliffe are seeded second in the mixed doubles and proved too strong for Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and Finland's Harri Heliovaara, winning 6-4, 6-4.
Their second-round opponents will be British pair Henry Patten and Olivia Nicholls.
Routliffe links back up with Dabrowski on Wednesday morning for their round of 16 women's doubles match, when the second seeds will face Romania's Elena-Gabriela Ruse and Romanian Marta Kostyuk.
