The Warriors have failed to seize a much-needed win against the Parramatta Eels in front of a home crowd at Mt Eden Stadium in Auckland.

Before kick-off on Friday night, the Warriors sat three points outside the top eight, and even then their hopes of making the playoffs were slim.

With tough games against the Dolphins, Manly, Bulldogs and the Sharks on the horizon, the Warriors needed to use this game to get their attack clicking against a lesser ranked opponent.

But the second-to-bottom Parramatta Eels were playing with nothing to lose, and after pulling ahead early on with a 12-0 lead, they soundly took the 30-20 victory.

Kick-off was at 8pm on Friday, NZT.
