6:14 am on 11 February 2011

The Belgium men's hockey team has beaten New Zealand 4-3 in the second test in Whangarei to level their series at 1-all.

The Black Sticks took an early 2-nil lead before giving up 4 unanswered goals.

Coach Shane Mcleod says there were too many poor performances which was never going to guarantee them a win.

Simon Child and Blair Hilton scored the New Zealand goals in the first 8 minutes.

The Black Sticks Men will play their first game against Korea in Auckland tomorrow, and then they play their final game against Belgium on Sunday.
