A Maori boarding school and the Catholic Diocese of Auckland are refusing to comment on a critical Education Review Office report.
It said a lack of agreement between Hato Petera College and the Diocese over who had responsibility for the school's hostel buildings was having a negative affect on the school board's ability to continue improvements.
The Catholic Diocese initially agreed to answer questions from Te Manu Korihi, only to later refuse to speak about the ERO report.
The College would not talk either, saying the report had not been confirmed - despite ERO making the review public
Meanwhile, New Zealand First is supporting a call by the Education Review Office for the Ministry of Education to get involved.
The party said officials needed to partner with the school board and proprietors to resolve issues around the safety of school buildings and the quality of accommodation.
