Māori health initiative Whānau Ora will undergo a review by an independent panel to see how the model can be grown and improved.
Whānau Ora minister Peeni Henare made the annoucement today to see how the model can be applied across government and the social sector.
Whānau Ora was launched in 2010 to improve the delivery of social and health services and was led by former Māori Party leader Dame Tariana Turia.
Mr Henare said he wanted to ensure the Whānau Ora service delivery model was accountable and transparent in the achievement of outcomes for whānau.
Caren Rangi will chair the independent review panel, which is made up of six members.
The panel will deliver their findings in a report in November this year, and will then report back to Cabinet.
