Some of Aotearoa's best young Kapa Haka performers will be performing today for the first time since the country went into lockdown during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Kapa Haka competitions and festivals were either postponed or cancelled when New Zealand went into lockdown.
The Raahui Pookeka Ahurei Kapa Haka Festival is being held in Hamilton today and is expected to be a sell-out event.

Five secondary schools from the North Island will battle it out this afternoon - Te Wharekura o Rakaumanga, Te Maurea Whiritoi, Te Wharekura o Hoani Waititi, Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretataunga/Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngāti Kahungunu o te Wairoa and Te Wharekura o te Rāwhitiroa - will take the stage.
There will also be well-known adult groups performing to support the day and the groups competing.
The team at Pukana and Cinco Cine are livestreaming the event so everyone from around the country can tune in.
