A fiery debate is expected as the Treaty Principles Bill has its first reading in the House on Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile, thousands continue their hīkoi towards Wellington opposing the legislation. A huge crowd earlier stopped traffic in Hamilton as the national hīkoi made its way through the city.
And hours before the debate, Prime Minister [https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/political/533772/christopher-luxon-gives-scathing-appraisal-of-treaty-principles-bill-ahead-of-first-reading Christopher Luxon called the bill "simplistic"[ but National would abide its agreement to see it to select committee.
