Auckland's Ngati Whatua o Orakei hapu has international plans for its giant plastic waka-shaped pavilion once the Rugby World Cup is over.
The $2 million pavilion, opened by the Prime Minister on Thursday 13 October, is open to the public until 23 October.
The pavilion showcases Maori culture and measures more than 70 metres long and is more than 16 metres high.
Director of Waka Maori Renata Blair says, after the Rugby World Cup attention will turn to taking it overseas.
He plans to meet with an architectural firm to discuss the logistics of shipping the pavilion and how much it could cost.
