Rental increase

Feeling like your rent is too high? Well. New Zealanders spend more of their income on housing than any other developed country in the OECD apart from heavily indebted Greece, the New Zealand Herald reports

The newspaper says although income disparities have decreased slightly, household disposable incomes in New Zealand remain below the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development average.

The findings are part of an OECD's report  titled How's Life?

The report, released yesterday, shows the cost of housing as a proportion of income in New Zealand is the second-highest in the OECD, with 26 per cent of the average household's income going towards housing.
