Last hurrah for Camp A Low Hum

9:29 am on 18 December 2013

After seven years, it's just been announced that Camp A Low Hum 2014 is to be the last.

The indie music festival has been held in Wainuiomata and other rural areas of the lower North Island since 2007.

Organiser Ian 'Blink' Jorgensen announced this morning that he had been "agonising" over the decision for "many months":

I wasn’t going to make it public that I was finishing after this one, but I realised that it would be a bummer for me to announce on the last night of the event that it was the last one as it would create more of a buzzkill and depressed vibe than the celebratory party that I am hoping it will be! So I’m giving everyone a heads up so we can give it the send-off it deserves!

Jorgensen said he couldn't "express enough thanks" to those who have supported the "ridiculous concept" for the past seven years.

Tickets for the final Camp, to be held at Camp Wainui from February 7 – 9, are still on sale. Ten "international" acts, 25 from Australia, and around 50 from New Zealand are expected to be on the bill.
