I’ve been playing some games during the Xmas break and I thought I’d outline some of what I’ve been up to.
Tiny Thief
I wouldn’t have known anything about Tiny Thief if it wasn’t for the fact it was a free gift in a 12 days of Christmas app on my iPhone. I played the first level and got addicted. It has really simple graphics and is by Rovio, which also created Angry Birds.
Tiny thief is an adventure/puzzle game. The premise is that you’re a thief and you have to sneak around to collect your objective item. You also have a goal to find your pet (who I think is a weasel!) and find the hidden objects to get all three stars for a level. There are five areas each with five levels and a coming soon area.
It really is a fun little game to play in between odd jobs and during the ads on TV. Not being timed also comes in handy if you get interrupted.
Tiny Thief is available on both the Apple app store and the Android Play store for $2.99.
Bioshock: Infinite (2013)
Bioshock was released in March 2013 but I never got around to getting it, never mind playing it. During the holidays I thought I’d try to get in a few gaming hours. I was never really into the original Bioshock games, I think because I had a good friend who just talked it up endlessly that I didn’t feel like playing it anymore.
I’ve heard Bioshock being described as “a first person shooter with RPG elements”. I started playing and the story evolves quite nicely and at a fast pace with the game interaction. The graphics are great and the world that you play in is amazingly creative and awesome, with almost a steampunk type of feel to it.
Bioshock Infinite can probably be picked up in the bargain bin from between $40 - $60 now.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)
My go to game when I really want to play a First person shooter (FPS) is Modern Warfare 2 (MW2). Since I’ve recently had my UFB installed I thought I’d jump on and see how much faster my connection was.
It took me approximately 30 minutes to not be shot in the head without killing anyone. I’m a little rusty since I haven’t played it in 8+ months, however once I got back into the game it was great and the connection was much faster. I could keep up with the Aussies and even the US players. Woo! Now if only those snipers could stop shooting me. :)
Modern Warfare 2 is an old game, released at least 4 - 5 years ago. If you do find it still available, it will be in the bargain bin for approximately $30 - $40.
This is just some of what I’ve been playing. Have you been playing a really great, interesting game recently? Let me know what you’re playing on Twitter.
