Try-outs to join the best hip-hop dance group in the world take place in just a few weeks in Auckland.
The Royal Family are the three-time world hip-hop dance champions led by 22-year-old Parris Goebel, who choreographs the group and owns the renowned dance studio they train in, The Palace.
She took a break from a whirlwind year of working with Jennifer Lopez and Cirque du Soleil, as well as starring in a popular dance-movie franchise, to come home and watch her students dance at their end-of-year show in Manukau.
Murielle Baker caught up with her at the show, and also spoke to two dancing hopefuls vying for a spot in the 2014 Royal Family.
