Police say a man who died of gunshot wounds along with two children in a Dunedin house had twice been arrested for breaching family protection orders.
The body of a 51-year-old Milton man was found at the property in the northern harbour suburb of St Leonards along with boy and a girl who had been shot dead.
Police have named the children as Bradley Livingstone, 9, and Ellen Livingstone, who was six.
Police received an emergency call about 9.55pm on Wednesday after neighbours heard gunshots coming from the home in Kiwi Street. The Armed Offenders Squad was deployed and the bodies and a shotgun were found at the scene.
