When Tiny Ruins' new album, Brightly Painted One, was released earlier this year, singer-songwriter Hollie Fullbrook barely had time to celebrate.

She was on a top-level concert hall tour of Europe, playing cello in Neil Finn's band, and performing as the support act every night.

Playing in Finn's band, as well as fronting as Tiny Ruins for the opening sets on the tour, Fullbrook sounds exhausted. "I feel like I used to feel before a big university exam,” she says.

While she was getting her hair and make-up done backstage at Jools Holland, Neil Finn pops in and jokes: “It’d be quite funny if you just marched in there, just straight-up to Jools, and said, 'Hi I’m with Radio New Zealand, I’m just wanting to ask you a couple of questions about... I dare ya”.
