Samuel Flynn Scott says while writing his Phoenix Foundation side project titled Bunnies on Ponies, there were no uncertainties about the creative process he’d take.
Scott says he’d been “convalescing” from an injury; listening to Nirvana, The Breeders and Weezer.
“All this [new] chilled out, contemporary music makes me feel anxious. I want to listen to something that’s loud and rocky, and I was finding that much more comforting for whatever reason.”
That’s how Bunnies on Ponies came out sounding “for want of a better word, a bit grunge”.
“It was just, I really want to make some loud guitar music and play through amps that are turned up actually to full and see what that feels like”.
