The man allegedly kidnapped last week was found in Queenstown just before midnight last night, Radio New Zealand reports.

The 22-year-old Joseph Armstrong at the Lakeview Holiday Park in Queenstown. Police said he needed medical treatment.

A 17-year-old man is due to appear in the Queenstown District Court this morning charged with kidnapping. Another man was also arrested, but police are still hunting for 23-year-old Joshua Veint and 38-year-old Pita Wilson in relation to the case.

The 36-year-old man arrested in Invercargill on Saturday was charged with being an accessory after the fact to injuring, and has been released on bail.

A post appeared on Armstrong's Facebook page on Sunday night purporting to be from Armstrong himself. The post claimed that the kidnapping was a hoax, and went on to apologise to Vient and Wilson's families.

However, it was not known if the post was from Armstrong, with friends questioning the spelling and grammar.

This morning, friends of Armstrong were posting comments of relief at his discovery.
