An aide to a Republican congressman has resigned after coming under fire for her online criticism of President Barack Obama’s teenage daughters.
Elizabeth Lauten came under fire last week when she criticized Mr Obama’s daughters for their seemingly bored demeanor at an appearance with their father as he “pardoned” a turkey at a White House pre-Thanksgiving ceremony.
She wrote in a Facebook post that Malia, 16, and 13-year-old Sasha needed to show “a little class.”
Simply unacceptable what #elizabethlauten said about Malia & Sasha Obama. No respect at all. Should lose her job and be reprimanded.

Ms Lauten, the communications director for US Representative Stephen Fincher, had apologized for her “hurtful words” in her Facebook post.
A staff member in Mr Fincher’s office confirmed on Tuesday that Lauten no longer worked there, Reuters reported.
"Dress like you deserve respect, not a seat at the bar." Both Sasha and Malia Obama aren't even close to legal drinking age.
