Tender and intriguingly warped, the songs of Dunedin's Kane Strang have the power to make the toughest hearts ache.

Strang played his debut Wellington show in November, as part of the Old Hall Gigs series of concerts, playing songs from his first album, A Pebble and a Paper Crane, and previewing new material from his forthcoming album, due out in 2015.
Chris Keogh and Emma Smith went to the Long Hall in the Wellington suburb of Roseneath last month to capture the performance.
